Privacy Policy
Speak Ideas turns your speech into organized text. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and we operate no server that could receive your data. Some features send your data to services you choose and pay for directly — this page names every one of them, says exactly what is sent, and the app asks your permission before the first time it happens.
What the app stores, and where
- Your recordings and transcripts are stored as files on your device. They leave it only through the optional features listed below.
- Your settings, API keys and Mac password are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. We never receive them.
- How it is collected: the microphone records only while you are actively recording, and only after you grant microphone permission.
- What it is used for: producing a transcript of what you said, and — only if you enable it — cleaning up that text. Nothing else.
Speech recognition by Apple
With no API key at all, the app uses Apple's built-in speech recognition. For some languages this runs entirely on your iPhone; for others, including Ukrainian, Apple has no on-device model and the audio is processed by Apple's speech service. This is Apple's own system feature, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. It is never sent to us.
Optional features that send data to a third party
All of these are off by default. Each one activates only when you add your own API key, and the app shows a consent screen naming the service and the exact data before anything is sent for the first time. You can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings.

In every case the request uses your own key and your own account with that provider, and the data goes only to the destination you configured. The app adds no recipients of its own, and no audio or text is ever sent to the developer of Speak Ideas.
Third-party protection. Each provider above is bound by its own published privacy policy, linked in the table, which we have reviewed as offering protection equivalent to what this policy describes: the data is processed to fulfil your request and is not sold. Because you use your own account, the provider's terms with you govern retention — review them if that matters to you, and prefer the on-device or your-own-Mac option if you would rather no third party be involved at all.
Your own Mac (optional, not a third party)
If you set it up, recordings sync over your local network to a folder on a Mac you own and whose address you entered yourself. This is not a third-party service and involves no company: the data goes from your iPhone to your computer. If you choose this and no cloud service, your audio never leaves your own network.
What we do NOT do
- We operate no server that receives your recordings, transcripts or keys.
- No analytics, crash trackers, advertising SDKs or third-party tracking.
- We do not sell or share your data — we have no technical ability to access it.
Data deletion and withdrawing consent
Delete a note in the app to remove it from your device (and from your Mac on the next sync, if enabled). Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To stop sending anything to a third party, withdraw consent or remove the API key in Settings — both take effect immediately. To delete data already held by a provider, use your account with that provider.
Children
Speak Ideas is not directed at children and collects no personal information.

Що зберігається
- Записи й транскрипти — локально на пристрої; не залишають його, поки сам не увімкнеш опційну функцію нижче.
- Налаштування (API-ключі, пароль Мака) — у Keychain на пристрої.
Мікрофон і розпізнавання
- Мікрофон — лише під час запису.
- За замовчуванням транскрипція — на пристрої (Apple Speech), аудіо не залишає iPhone.
Опційні функції (передають дані назовні)
Вимкнені за замовчуванням; працюють лише з твоїми ключами:
- Хмарна транскрипція (Groq/OpenAI) — аудіо йде до обраного провайдера лише для транскрипту, твоїм акаунтом.
- Чистка (Anthropic Claude) — текст нотатки йде в Anthropic лише для виправлення.
- Власний Mac (SMB) — синк у твоєму локальному мережі на твій комп'ютер.
Чого ми НЕ робимо
- Не маємо сервера, що отримує твої дані.
- Без аналітики, трекерів, реклами.
- Не продаємо й не передаємо дані.
Видалення / контакт
